Community Groups
We desire to be a community of believers who regularly encourage one another. It was out of this desire that we began our weekday Community Groups. The book of Hebrews says that we are to “encourage one another day after day…so that none of you will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin” (Hebrews 3:12-13). We all understand that sin lies to us and causes us to be hardened toward the things of God. And this text of Scripture shows us that God has given us fellowship with one another as a way to keep us from these effects of sin. We see this ministry as a practical way to strengthen our fellowship with one another and walk faithfully with our Lord. But there’s more. God calls believers to be a community that loves one another. We want to be a church with members that develop strong ties with one another and practically care for each other. And weekday community groups provide the platform for this as well.
What to expect
We generally meet in homes Tuesday or Wednesday evenings for about an hour to sing, pray, and dig into Scripture together and share life together. We cover a portion of Scripture the same way in all the groups, going over observations, exposition and implications relative to the biblical text. Our community groups are open to all who join us for worship on Sundays. For more details, please speak to one of our leaders or members.
The church's greatest need is not better philosophy, more impressive speakers, or superior rhetoric, rather, a deeper understanding of Jesus Christ and His finished work on the cross.
He who forsakes the pursuit of a good conscience walks in darkness and enjoys no fellowship with God.
There are no civilians in the spiritual battlefield. The devil opposes all who trust and follow Christ, and we must resist him since we are all soldiers of Christ
If Christ saved a wretch like Paul, there is no one He cannot save. No past is too dark for His light. No past is too dirty for His cleansing blood.
In a story like this, one would imagine this hero to be Ruth, who paid a high price to look after Naomi; but she isn’t. If not Ruth, then Boaz would seem to be it. After all, he is repeatedly called the redeemer, the go’el; but he isn’t. The redeemer is the seed, the ultimate David, the Lord Jesus.
