As Israel was going to soon enter into the land that God promised them, Moses reminds and instructs them to obey God’s commandments. Moses stresses how important this is - to obey God’s commandments. Moses helps them by telling them to remember everything that God has done for them (from Egypt… to the wilderness). Israel is a special people because God specially chose them (and only them). And throughout their history, God was with and close to Israel. How many other nations can say that?
